How to say in Korean NICE TO MEET YOU
I use “안녕하세요- annyeong-haseyo” in almost any situation all the time. Used to say good morning, used to say good afternoon and used to said good evening. So as you can see, it is used all the time between people who know each other, as well as with people that we don’t know.
Furthermore, between very close friends, we will drop the last part and say only the short form: 안녛 (annyeong).
Now, when you meet someone for the first time, you will say in english: Hello, how are you which that would be “안녕하세요- annyeong-haseyo”. Then you will add, nice to meet you which is “만나서 반갑습니다 -mannaseo bangap-seumnida”. This last sentence refers that is the first time we meet so: I am glad that we meet.
Let’s see some short dialogue to see how it works:
Lucy: Hello! 안녕하세요!
Laura: Hello. I am Laura. I am from Spain. 안녕하세요. 저는라우라입니다. 스페인에왔습니다.
Lucy: I am Lucy. I am Korean. Nice to meet you. 저는루시입니다. 한국사람입니다.만나서반갑습니다.
Laura: Nice to meet you too. 저도만나서반갑습니다.
Hope you enjoyed!
XOXO Laura
