How would you say in Korean: I DON’T WANNA or I DON’T WANT TO…
This grammatical expression is used when you want to express that you don’t want to do something, you don’t like something or you hate to do something. Also used to express when you hate things.
It is very simple gramma ending structure, so you will have no problem to use it in your daily life.
Look at the following examples:
- I don’t want to work with him ( you are equals in position) –> 그 사람과 같이 일하고 싶지 않아요
- I don’t want to work under him (you have a superior) –> 그 사람 밑에서 일하고 싶지 않아요
- I don’t want to go there alone–> 거기에 혼자 가고 싶지 않아요
- I don’t want to go out with him/ I don’t want to date him –> 그와 데이트하고 싶지 않아요
- I don’t want to buy these expensive clothes –>이런 비싼 옷을 사고 싶지 않아요
- She doesn’t want to be bothered –> 그녀는 방해 받고 싶지 않아 해요
- I hate you –> 네가 싫어요
- She hates me –> 그녀는 나를 싫어해요
- I don’t want to eat BBQ today –> 오늘 삼겹살 먹고 싶지 않아요
- I don’t want to do this –> 이것을 하고 싶지 않아요. / 하기 싫어요
Notes 1:
Sentence 6 and 8, the subject is the 3rd person of singular. In this case, we use the same verb but in 싫어하다
- She doesn’t want to be bothered –> 그녀는 방해 받고 싶지 않아 해요
- She hates me –> 그녀는 나를 싫어해요
Notes 2:
In case that generally you don’t like to do some “action”, the expression to use is ~verb 는 거 싫어요.
- (Generally) I don’t like washing dishes –> 설거지하는 거 싫어요
- (Generally) I don’t like being interrupted when I am talking –> 제가 말하는 데 말 끊는 거 싫어요
- (Generally) I don’t like to watch TV –>TV 보는 거 싫어요
But if this particular moment in time you don’t like something then you say as follow:
- I don’t want washing dishes –> 설거지하기 싫어요
- I don’t like to watch TV –>TV 보기 싫어요
This is very useful and used one, so you can heard that in the Korean drammas a lot!
Hope you enjoyed!
